The Medical School Ukulele Song

by Elana on July 7, 2010

On a light (and hilarious, if I do say so myself) note, here is a little ukulele song I wrote and performed on the last day of medical school for my narrative medicine class (yes, I took a class called narrative medicine, and yes, it counted for rotation credit… godless 4th year).  I tried to capture the pain, suffering, and general ridiculousness of the medical school experience.  I learned ukulele only a few days before writing the song but had a couple more weeks to practice before I recorded this.  Enjoy.

Elana,
I have been a fan of your music for sometime now.
Do you take requests from fans? If so, I have a request. Would you be able to post a youtube video of you making the auctioneer cry? I think it would be awesome!

Ha, that’s pretty impressive! I’ve got my annual residency talent show coming up so have been brainstorming song ideas… will definitely keep this in the back of my head for inspiration :-)
